Pallium – this Latin noun literally means coverlet, mantle and cloak. The word participates in the legal term “Pallio Cooperire” which in terms of Family Law refers to the act of making a child legitimate with the legal event of the marriage. I.e. under signing the marriage certificate or contract (where applicable) or via concluding the religious wedlock (where recognized as official one), both spouses who marry each other, “recognize” legally the child and get listed officially as parents of this child.
