Naturales – within the area of Family Law in the Roman Empire, this legal term referred to the figures of illegitimate children, born by a woman who worked for the master or was under the power of the master; i.e. concubine. Her children had the rights of support by their father. The origin of this term is the word “natura”, which means “nature” (considered as origin).
