Latin Legal Terms

Angustus – this Latin term means narrow, limited, tight. For instance in the Criminal Law, the terms for different jail punishments are limited in particular timeframes so the court has to issue the sentence obeying these deadlines. If the Criminal Code stipulates deadlines of 10 years maximum for committed thievery, the judge is limited to issue a jail sentence within these deadlines.
