Ad valorem

Ad valorem – literally this term means: According to price. Within the area of Tax Law for instance, it relates to Capital gains that are charged on the base of the achieved sale price of real estate. For example, you sell a house for 100 000 dollars, and the Tax Law provides that 10% of it represents the Capital Gains. Then it will be calculated as 10 000 dollars.
