De ventre inspiciendo

De ventre inspiciendo – this phrase literally means “for inspecting the belly”. It was used in the ancient Inheritance Law, where detailed an order, entitling the heir to organize a jury which to inspect and confirm the pregnancy of a widow of the ancestor.
