Curator

Curator – this Latin noun refers to the figure of a guardian, overseer. The word participates in the legal term “curator ad hoc”, which means “a special guardian”. In the area of Family Law it refers to the figure of appointed guardian by the court, to handle the legal matters of a minor child (usually in case of death of its parents). A similar term is “custos”, that thas similar meaning. The origin of the term “curator” is the word “cura”, which details the procedure of management or maintenance.
