Latin Legal Terms

Consummo

Consummo – this Latin verb means to add together; to sum up (numbers of figures). In legal practice, penalties charged for each day of delay are calculated altogether for the whole period of delay, to reach the amount which the harmed party seeks as compensation for delayed performance by the other party. Another example lays in the Conveyance procedures – the installments paid for the purchase of off-plan property, when summed up must form the total purchase price agreed between the seller and the buyer.
