Verbum

Verbum – it means word. It is used in the term “in haec verba”, which is used in cases where adding text in complaint verbatim, so this adding is important to the lawsuit; i.e. the law requires it to be included. The word relates also to the legal phrase “marriage per verba de future subsequente copula”, which details an irregular wedlock established by a given promise to marry in the future, and then an act of consummation done too. It was applicable in Scottish Family Law until 1940.
