Latin Legal Terms

Rationa personae

Rationa personae – this Latin term literally means “by reason of the person concerned”. In practice, it applies in court proceedings, to detail if the court has jurisdiction to hear and decide on the case, on the base of the claimant’s and the defendant’s persona (i.e. if the defendant lives in the area of the court, for example).
re vera: in truth.
