Commodore

Commodore – within the sphere of Financial Law this verb means to lend, give. The word forms the legal term “commodatum”, which details the loan or lease of item that has to be returned to the lender without any amortization damages, caused from its usage. It is formed from the word “commodo”, which means to make fit, adapt, please, oblige and serve.
Nowadays the word as noun has got application in the Maritime Law, where refers to the figure of commissioned officer who’s rang is above the captain, but under admiral.
