Latin Legal Terms

Ante

Ante - It means before, previously, past. Nowadays the word relates to the term “antedate”, which means to date back; retroactively. For example - to date a document to a time before it was written. This is illegal action in most countries. Also it is used in the Medical expression “ante cibum” or “ante prandium”, which means “before meals” (related to the time of taking some pills).
